Have you ever tried to hold a cloud? - or - Capture the instant when a stone is dropped into a still pond? ... These are just some of the challenges that face you when you first approach Siglinda's sculptural works. Her porcelain clouds ( some over 2 feet across ) appear so wispy and light that you are almost afraid to touch them. As you walk about, their white on white textures with subtle grays and lavenders seem to ebb and flow as though the wind was shaping them.

Your senses are pulled back to earth by pieces where Siglinda seems to have captured the instant a stone was thrown into a bed of molten lava. The soft textured "stones" are surrounded by "splashes" of frozen clay and textures of primeval earth. On closer examination, you will find inscriptions that are both challenging and disturbing. Siglinda says that "Seeing the appalling hatred erupting in today's world, as an artist, I must speak out". As if sensing the need to return to the peaceful harbor of the sea, you are drawn to her Coral pieces where she has worked the clay to the point of old suede coloring but with the myriad of nooks and crannies that you see in coral or old riverbed stones. You come away with a sense that you have had the privilege to see within another person's soul.
